I would first like to thank you for being so welcoming to Sarah and me since we were assigned here in July. It is truly an honor to be here to serve with all of you.
   I would like to invite you to join me, fellow St. Louis parishioners and others from around the city in front of Planned Parenthood on Ash Wednesday, March 1^st after the 8:15am and noon Masses. We will have silent prayer and offer a vocal Rosary for the unborn and as a show of support for the pro-life movement. We will leave here after the two masses to go to Planned Parenthood. We would love your company. It would also be a wonderful way to give an hour of time during this Lenten season standing for life in front of Planned Parenthood during the 40 days campaign.
   We all know how vehement the pro-choice platform is. Recently, in the gospel of January 28, we heard Jesus tell the crowd “Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so men persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (MT 5:11-12).
   The season of Lent is described in CCC 1438 “These times are particularly appropriate for spiritual exercises, penitential liturgies, pilgrimages as signs of penance, voluntary self-denial such as fasting and almsgiving, and fraternal sharing (charitable and missionary works).”
   Let us speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.
